Objectives and Strategies
Objective: By 2030, decrease the percentage of Ohio adults age 18 years of age or older who report any current tobacco/nicotine use from 27.6% to 22.1%. (baseline: 2018 BRFSS).
Objective: By 2030, decrease the percentage of Ohio middle and high school youthwho use tobacco/nicotine by 20% from baseline (baseline: 2019 YRBS).
Objective: By 2030, expand Ohio’s Comprehensive Smoke-Free Law to include all grounds owned by the State of Ohio.
Objective: By 2030, increase the cigarette excise tax and tax on e-cigarette vaping taxes, improving Ohio’s ranking from 27th to at least 15th (baseline: The Tax Burden on Tobacco).
Objective: By 2030, decrease existing smoking disparities in Ohio adult populations by 20% from baseline.
